about
Just a tune that has been dancing in my head for a couple of years and finally translated into an actual living/breathing entity. It's called "Soul Food" and it's just about looking at ourselves in the mirror and deciding if how we act and treat people every day is actually helping make the world better or worse. Based on current events, it seems that our "soul" (our true inner-self of our species, that just wants to be happy and relaxed for this extremely short time of existence) needs some nourishment. Hope you like the song and thanks for checking it out!

Soul Food
(Music and Lyrics written and performed by Eric Livingston Copyright 2020)…FU, 2020
Verse-1:
Easily, we get caught up in the throws
The connection we have sewn has gone spotty
See the ways, demolition of the soul
Opens up the vapid hole called our bodies
Bridge:
Blame it all on our apathy, as we roam this earth for money.
Sealing our fate as we casually dig a hole that’s cold and muddy
Oh my..empathy, mouth wide open
Sympathy, mouth wide open
Empathy, mouth wide open
Can it be, we’re just broken?
Chorus:
Taking control, yeah we better fill this hole
Or we'll never find ourselves
Feeding our souls, yeah we better take control
Or we'll never break this spell
Verse-2:
Eat the waste of division
And consume repetition
Of the news, as we’re rotting
Either way, it’s a spell of “win or lose”, it’s the curse of “pick and choose”, we embody
Bridge:
Blame it all on our apathy, as we roam this earth for money.
Sealing our fate as we casually dig a hole that’s cold and muddy
Oh my..empathy, mouth wide open
Sympathy, mouth wide open
Empathy, mouth wide open
Can it be, we’re just broken?
Chorus:
Taking control, yeah we better fill this hole
Or we'll never find ourselves
Feeding our souls, yeah we better take control
Or we'll never break this spell
Outro:
Where do we begin? How do we fill-in this emptiness?
